| Directions: From M4 J13;
follow signs for A34 north then take slip road for Chieveley and the
Showground (brown signs). At top of slip road turn right, go over
A34 then turn first left into lane and follow BCC signs.
From Oxford A34 south, take road on left signed Beedon / Chieveley. In 3 miles at T junction turn left, go over A34 then turn first left into lane and follow BCC signs.. NB. From Newbury follow road signs for Chieveley - not A34. ALL OUTFITS MUST ARRIVE ON FRIDAY.

£1.50 Locality: Newbury Showground is located close to junction 13 of the M4 motorway and the main A34, providing easy access from all parts of the country. Chieveley is an attractive village on the edge of the beautiful Berkshire Downs just 4.7 miles northwest of Newbury town centre. There is a village shop and post office and a public house. The Living Rainforest at Hampstead Norreys is not far away or perhaps visit the 14th Century Donnington Castle sited at the top of a hill overlooking the River Lambourn, a mile north of Newbury. What's On? The rally is within walking distance of the Showground. The Royal County of Berkshire Show is a major agricultural, horticultural and trade show held over the two days. The show includes trade stands for everything from tractors and agricultural equipment to motor dealers, interior furnishings, outdoor and country pursuits and market traders. Visit web site www.newburyshow.co.uk. The agricultural show includes all types of farm animals, with the procession of breed champions in the main arena. Other attractions include food halls, massive craft tent, flower tent for display and sales, horseshoeing competition, wild life conservation, entertainment area, classic, vintage vehicles and a large funfair. The main area has a different full programme each day including show jumping, carriage driving, heavy horses and hot air balloon lift offs. Show tickets will be on sale at the rally office at reduced rates. (2009 price £12.00 per adult, £10.00 children and concessions and £35.00 family per day). Dogs are not permitted into the showground. Rally Officers: Peter and Jill Butler John and Christine Ward Rally will start 12:00 noon Friday and will finish 12:00 noon Monday. Bookings must be received by Monday 30th August. |
