Directions: From Reading, take the A4074 towards Wallingford. On approaching Wallingford, and 10 yards after the B4009 (Goring) junction, turn left into a country lane. If you miss the turning into the lane, continue to the roundabout and back again.
From Wallingford southern bypass, at the Mongewell Roundabout, take the A4074 towards Reading and in 200 yards turn right into a country lane immediately before the B4009 (Goring) turning.
DO NOT turn in through the brick pillar entrance near the roundabout.

GRASS FIELD

Carmel

Locality: Carmel College was Europe's only Jewish co-educational boarding school in England operating between 1948 and 1997 and is now disused. Enjoy the large open field with riverside frontage. Peaceful surroundings and walks around the college grounds with views of the Thames, the Boat House and the Lake. Approx 1 mile to Wallingford town centre.

Competition: The Centre's Fishing Competition takes place this weekend and is open to Berkshire Centre members attending the rally. Visitors are welcome to fish for pleasure. The competitions are for:

T & H Angling Trophy Highest adult weight
John Parker Cup Lowest adult weight
Benham Cup Highest junior weight
Christopher Cup Sunday Pairs' Competition

Rules:

  • All fish count except pike which must be immediately returned to the water.
  • Only one rod allowed in the water at a time; no baited rod to be left unattended.
  • Barbless hooks and lead-free weights must be used.
  • Each competitor must have a National Rod Licence which can be obtained from Post Offices.

What's On? Barbecue around the rally office on Saturday evening.
