I loved my Granddad Norman.

Everyone called him Nutty Norman because he was a jolly and happy man with a great sense of fun, he was always teasing us and had far more energy than we had. Granddads always have a down side and when Norman collected me from school, he always made me walk home.

He always had a smile on his face, and was never upset, - he loved to play games with us as children - he was a real Granddad, – In fact he used to play games with everyone, especially at rallies – his dancing was so embarrassing,  and he was the only person I know who liked the Birdie Song.

Granddad had been caravanning for a long, long time, and it was his idea that we should get one - when we arrived on site he always had everything all sorted out and set up so that Mum & Dad could relax with a beer in their hands.

Granddad liked a tipple too, - he liked a Brandy, - and a Whisky - but his favourite drink was always .. somebody else’s.

I think lots of people will miss him – I know I will.

I loved my Granddad.

A letter from Linda Giddings

Dear Friends,

I would like to say a big thank you for your cards, kind thoughts and wishes.

I was also very moved by the donations for the Duchess of Kent House charity.  I believe it was about £700.

Once again, thank you all.

Linda
